Nicole Ari Parker has worked in television, film and also on stage. The actress is best known for playing Teri (the spirited lawyer) Joseph. At the University of Toronto she completed an MA in Theatre, and she also double-majored in Psychology and Sociology. Contractor was offered the lead character in Pericles after a one-year stint at University. The audition was held for the part in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and was awarded. In 2002, Canadian critics praised her performance in 92 productions of Pericles. She was given the chance to enroll in the Stratford Conservatory, which allows only eight males and four woman for a crash course in the art of classical theatre. Contractor eagerly accepted. Contractor received a guaranteed spot in the following season of productions and was offered the role as Hermia as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
